Filling up...

Stopped for gas tonight, ...my Ford Explorer easily sucks down about $85 worth these days.  As I stood there at the pump, I couldn't help but ponder the good ol' days.

I started driving in 1985, and bought my first car (a 1973 green Ford Maverick) for $300 that I had earned on a paper route, delivering newspapers.

Back in those days - I could fill the tank, get a 44 oz. Slurpee, a "Whatchamacallit" candy bar, and a pack of bubblicious gum...

 ...and still get change back from a $20 bill.
